Tuesday, March 23, 2004 ::: from a distant i see actually i can see - crystal clear do I? maybe I don't but i like it that way * last night I listened to Aqua before going to sleep it sounds lame but pretty good actually a testament to how even candy pop was still good back then now we're left with cheeky girls (who are now well out of the scene) and the like. "turn back time" just another Aqua classic that's timeless. yes, if only we could turn back time * if only i could say what I still hide if only i could *** my spanish teacher really speaks cute cantonese in today's lesson, he suddenly asked us if Cantonese has this system of dividing matters into musculino and feminino we said no "No? Really?" "Really. We don't have that." it's the look of disappointment on his face "Because yesterday on the bus (he pronounces it as 'boos', yes, he speaks cute english too) I heard this man said 'Gaaaaoooo Chorrrrrr'. and then the woman said 'Nei jau Gaaaooo Chorrrrrr-wwwaaaa'" and so he thought 'GaoChor' is musculino, 'GaoChorWa' is feminino. Cute! And then he was teaching us the adjetivos for beautiful/ugly/pretty/handsome etc He asked us if Jackie Chan is handsome. We said no, which made sense. At once he looked disappointed. He asked us the same question a dozen times, receiving the same answer. He couldn't believe that. "You know what, in the US/Latin America, people want to change Jackie Chan to Ricky Martin' (Translation: In US/Latin Am, people think Jackie Chan is more good-looking than Ricky Martin. And obviously he also thinks so too) And then he asked ME if Gigi is pretty. Yes, I answered. Which made sense too, of course. After that he asked me again whether I think Joey is pretty. As expected, I didn't have to answer that, because the whole class burted out loud NOOOOO... Once again he was disappointed. He thinks Joey Yung is No.1 (that's what he wrote on the board) "Whenever I'm on the bus (boos), when I see her on TV, I go downstairs, and it's gone" (never mind the latter part, he's just trying to say that he loooves Joey) even more than Las Twins. (his past favorite. But when we clarified that Twins are actually 2 individuals with different surnames and are not real twins at all, he felt cheated and no longer mentioned them ever since) speaking of different interpretations of 'beauty'...
